What is NH MCAP?
The NH Mental Health Care Access in Pediatrics (MCAP) program is a statewide initiative that promotes access to children’s behavioral health care through no-cost teleconsultation, training, technical assistance, and care coordination support for pediatric primary care providers and school professionals.
How Does MCAP Work?
MCAP ensures that more children have access to behavioral health care screening, diagnosis, treatment, and referral.

Timeline of NH MCAP
May 2024: Access Line is established in partnership with Dartmouth Health Children’s. NH MCAP launches expanded teleconsult services including Teleconsult Access Line and Teleconsults to Schools.
October 2023: DPHS-MCH is awarded continuation funding to expand NH MCAP through Sep 2026.
Sept 2023: NH MCAP completes its first iteration of funded programming.
May 2023: NH MCAP launches teleconsult service and ECHO training community for schools. 95 school professionals representing 41 schools and 15 districts offices across all ten counties are trained.
October 2022: DPHS-MCH is awarded additional funding to expand the reach of NH MCAP into K-12 public schools.
March 2020: NH MCAP launches teleconsult service, ECHO training program and learning community, and referral directory.

December 2019: NH MCAP is established through partnership with DPHS-MCH, UNH Institute for Health Policy and Practice, and the NH Pediatric Improvement Partnership.
October 2018: NH Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health Services – Maternal Child Health section (DPHS-MCH) awarded 5-year Pediatric Mental Health Care Access (PMHCA) grant from HRSA
